Discover an exciting opportunity to contribute to bird conservation and education with BirdLife Australia's Urban Birds team as a Digital Learning Coordinator.
BirdLife Australia is unique in the Australian not-for-profit sector. We have set ambitious new targets to put birds and nature on the path to recovery as part of our Bird Conservation Strategy contributing to the UN’s Global Biodiversity Framework mission to restore ecosystems and slow down biodiversity loss.
With more than half the world’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) dependent on nature and its services, the private sector has a significant role to play in halting and reversing nature loss.
In this pivotal role, you’ll lead the development and implementation of online education initiatives, elevating our e-Learning platform to become a Citizen Science Learning Hub with a broad-reaching impact both internally and externally. Guided by our Bird Conservation Strategy, your work will promote evidence-based learning, contributing to vital projects aligned with the Urban Bird Conservation Action Plan and BirdLife’s Participation strategy.
Your efforts in e-learning will empower local communities and supporters to actively engage in conservation behaviours and bird monitoring.
What you will bring to the team:
The successful applicant will possess a deep understanding and demonstrated experience of utilising learning management systems and online education best practices.
Your ability to align educational initiatives with organisational goals and strategies along
with the ability to translate complex concepts into engaging and accessible educational content will see you succeed in this role.
Your strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex concepts in clear and accessible language will allow you to present ideas effectively to diverse audiences.

This is a full-time role (1 FTE) on a 12 month max term contract which comes with an attractive salary package of $81,548 per annum plus 11% super.
