CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
Nominations are called for the following positions to be elected at the BirdLife Northern NSW Annual General Meeting 2024, at Binna Burra Lodge, Lamington National Park, Qld, on 12 March, 2024
BLNNSW AGM Get-together at Binna Burra in Lamington National Park Monday 11th to Wednesday 13th March 2024
Join Birdlife Northern NSW for its AGM and 2 days of birdwatching in this stunning location. This will NOT be a traditional campout with multiple all-day bird watching outings and long drives. Instead, we will meet daily, in small groups, at Binna Burra trailheads and explore for birds in their habitats over whatever time you want to spend.
Binna Burra is 800 metres above sea level amidst the sub-tropical rainforest of Woonoongoora – Lamington National Park in the Gold Coast Hinterland, Queensland. Lamington National Park is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area, the most extensive subtropical rainforest in the world. This park is famed for its ongoing geological processes, evolutionary history, and diversity (especially of rare, threatened and endemic species). It is renowned for its beautiful waterfalls and more than 160 kilometres of walking trails with multiple birding opportunities.
Please register if you are coming by sending an email to our secretary Helen Manning at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include the number of people attending, their names and contact details.
There will be a ‘meet and greet’ upon arrival the first afternoon/evening of Monday 11 March. The AGM will take place the following day, Tuesday 12 March.
The location of the Monday ‘meet and greet’ and Tuesday’s AGM will be sent to you when confirmed, as will the AGM Agenda.
We recommend you secure your accommodation soon. Options at Binna Burra include apartments ( Sky Lodges), glamping tents, tent and caravan sites and tiny homes. There is also a caravan park and hotel at Advancetown, about 30km from the National Park.
See https://www.binnaburralodge.com.au/ but you can also check your favourite accommodation booking platform for other accommodation adjacent to the park if you prefer.
View https://www.binnaburralodge.com.au/walking-tracks-in-lamington-national-park/ for examples of trails we will explore at a birdwatcher’s pace and distance. If you are an avid bushwalker, you are welcome to stay longer and explore.
