Join BirdLife Australia’s Mornington Peninsula branch for guided walks, talks and information about Mornington Peninsula birds.
Arrive at 9:00am in the observatory for a welcome, followed by a presentation on Birdwatching for Beginners. This presentation will be repeated until 11:00am.
Guided walks will commence at 9:30am to the Minsmere bird hide, Antechinus bird hide, woodland and garden. More guided walks will be held throughout the morning. Meet in front of the Historic Homestead.
Free morning tea from 10:30am outside the Friends of Coolart shop.
11:30am in the observatory: Guest speaker Dr Annie Naimo from BirdLife Australia’s Urban Bird Program. Learn how to provide habitat and identify birds in your garden and local area, followed by Q & A.
During the morning take a look at the displays by BirdLife Australia, Friends of Coolart, Friends of the Hooded Plover and the Victorian Waders Study Group and chat to their members.
BYO picnic lunch to enjoy in the beautiful Coolart gardens. Tea and coffee can be purchased from the Friends of Coolart shop, which will be open to browse for plants & vegies from the community garden and assorted items of interest.
