We are looking for a Threatened Terrestrial Birds Manager to lead and support a team in our Terrestrial Birds Program. This role will support BirdLife Australia to achieve its strategic goals by delivering projects which aim to prevent the extinction of threatened terrestrial birds.
With over 300,000 supporters nationally, BirdLife Australia’s conservation mission is underpinned by the efforts of thousands of committed and expert volunteers. We have set ambitious new targets to put birds and nature on the path to recovery as part of our Bird Conservation Strategy. Combining the best scientific expertise, partnership with institutions and communities and the unique capacity of birds to engage and spark joy, the Bird Conservation Strategy aims to halt overall bird population declines by 2050.
BirdLife Australia is unique in the Australian not-for-profit sector. Reporting to the Terrestrial Birds Program Leader, as the Threatened Terrestrial Birds Manager you will:
The successful applicant will have a background in conservation science and demonstrated experience in managing a team to deliver strategic projects with clear outcomes. Excellent written and spoken communication skills, and experience in successfully collaborating with a variety of stakeholders to achieve objectives, will be essential for you to achieve in this role.

This is a full-time role on a 12-month contract which comes with an attractive salary package of $90,196 – $100,218 (dependent on skills and experience) plus 10.5% super.
