About our group
BirdLife Hamilton is centred on the regional city of Hamilton, but embraces birdwatchers from across much of Victoria’s Western District. Our members live in many western Victorian towns, from Harrow and the Southern Grampians in the north, south to Digby in the south, and west to Casterton and beyond.
Our region supports a surprising diversity of habitats and birds, including several threatened species, such as the Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo and Australasian Bittern.
We hold monthly outings throughout the year, though two of our get-togethers scheduled for the winter months are held indoors.
In addition to our regular outings, we hold camping trips twice a year, heading off to different areas and habitats around Victoria and adjoining parts of south-eastern South Australia.
We also occasionally hold joint outings with other branches of BirdLife Australia in adjoining regions – BirdLife Warrnambool and BirdLife South East SA.
The group meets on the fourth Saturday of each month.
