We are looking for a Participation Strategy Manager to support our growing Campaigns and Participation Team. In this exciting new role, you will implement our national Citizen Science, Conservation Volunteering and Community activism strategy.

To achieve this ambitious goal, we will need to expand and empower our volunteer network in line with our strategic areas of focus. The Participation Strategy Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring our volunteer work is supported and strategic. BirdLife Australia is unique in the Australian not-for-profit sector. Our volunteers and participants deliver outcomes across a huge range of areas, from highly effective community organizing campaigns directed at political outcomes to globally significant citizen science, community conservation projects and engagement across the country. The role will work alongside our Conservation and Science Program Leaders and national network of volunteer branches and groups to ensure we have the people we need where we need them.
What you will bring to the team: The successful applicant will have demonstrated experience in managing volunteer groups and strategies in a not for profit sector. A sophisticated and strategic approach to stakeholder management along with the ability to develop and communicate clear and consistent processes. Experience managing governance structures and using CRM systems to manage volunteer recruitment strategies will also be important.

Benefits on offer: This is a full-time role on a continual contract which comes with an attractive salary package of $90,196 – $100,218 (dependent on skills and experience) plus 10.5% super.

We are looking for an experienced leader to develop and support our growing Terrestrial Birds Team. In this role you will lead the planning, delivery, and review of our terrestrial bird conservation programs.
The Terrestrial Birds Program Leader will play a critical role in ensuring our conservation program managers are supported to develop, implement and learn from our conservation projects.
Combining the best scientific expertise with on-ground conservation, and with partnership at the heart, BirdLife Australia is unique in the Australian not-for-profit sector. What you will bring to the team: The successful applicant will have demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with the ability to lead a widely dispersed team. Project management experience is essential, as is application of program evaluation for adaptive management. You will have a background in ecology (or similar) and excellent negotiation, influence and relationship building skills.
