Our activities range from a program of regular informal birding excursions, through meetings with high quality guest speakers, to long-term scientific observations. Among our most important work are long-term summer and winter wader counts around the state, waterfowl counts at the key habitat, Moulting Lagoon, and the south-east winter gull count.
BirdLife Tasmania holds regular meetings for its members, featuring high quality speakers who talk about various interesting bird-related topics. We also conduct regular birdwatching outings to interesting locations which support various different habitats.
BirdLife Tasmania conducts a number of bird surveys on a regular basis, including long-term summer and winter shorebird counts, waterfowl counts at Moulting Lagoon, and the annual south-east winter gull count.
The Birdlife Tasmania sends out an enews at the start of each month to members and supporters. In it, you will find a calendar of events, including excursions and meetings, the latest local group news, and short articles on birds and their conservation.
