BirdLife WA - Walk - Beekeeper Road

Overview

We will walk in and around an area along Beekeeper road. The area is in the heart of Wandoo Forest which is noted for the variety of birds. Previously our bird list has included Emus, Painted Buttonquail, Hooded Robins, Restless Flycatchers, Western Whistlers and seven species of Parrots/Cockatoos.

The walk will take 2 1⁄2 to 3 hours so bring a chair and morning tea to have while we take a bird list.

Getting there

Meet at 8:30am at the start of Beekeeper Road. From Perth, travel along the Great Southern Highway (to York) to Yarra Road. Travel south along Yarra Road 1.7km to Talbot West Road, then turn left and travel along Talbot West Road 17 km to the start of Beekeeper Road. The roads to this point are all bitumen. We will be driving along Beekeeper road for 0.5 km. The track is easily accessible by AWD.
