  • Locations Herdsman Lake

Overview

This is a 4.5 km walk from the carpark to the Herdsman Lake Settlers Cottage and return.

More than 160 species of bird have been recorded at Herdsman Lake.

Herdsman Lake contains one of the most varied and easily observed waterbird fauna of any Lake in southwestern Australia due primarily to its wide range of habitats; it is also an important breeding site for at least 20 species, including Australian Reed Warbler, Australasian Swamphen, Black Swan and Little Grassbird.

Bring your telescope if you have one. Bring a chair and morning tea to have while we do a combined bird list.

For members and the general public.

Leader: Lou Scampoli
