Nominations to be submitted by 30 November each year
BirdLife Australia Honorary Life Membership complements other awards made by BirdLife Australia to recognise the contributions of members to the organisation and its goals (including Fellowship, D.L. Serventy Medal, J.N. Hobbs Medal and Distinguished Service Awards).
Being made an Honorary Life Member of BirdLife Australia is a formal acknowledgement that a person has made a distinguished contribution to the national organisation and its objectives, demonstrating a high level of skills and expertise, though not necessarily in the field of ornithological science or science related disciplines.
It is the highest award available to members for their contribution to the organisation.
This distinction is a Constitutional Award and is limited to only twenty holders at any one time or as determined by the Board.
