Hooded Plover Conservation Workshops

  • Locations Tumby Bay, Elliston
Register to attend

Join us for free workshops in Tumby Bay and Elliston to learn how you can help protect threatened Hooded Plovers and their chicks.

Without help, Hooded Plover eggs have just a 2.5% chance of surviving to adulthood. These tiny, threatened shorebirds nest right on our local beaches — and they need our protection.

Join BirdLife Australia for free, hands-on conservation workshops in Tumby Bay and Elliston. You’ll learn about Hooded Plover behaviour, breeding challenges, and how you can help protect their beach habitat.

Workshops will include an indoor session followed by a field visit to a local beach to observe the birds in their natural environment. Whether you’re a local resident, beachgoer, or budding conservationist — everyone is welcome!

This project is supported by the Eyre Peninsula Landscape Board’s Grassroots Grants program, made possible by the regional landscape levy.
