Birds & Beans Social Bird Walk – Bendigo Botanical Gardens Wednesday 8th April 2026 8:00am
Our Birds & Beans walk in the Bendigo Botanical Gardens offers a relaxed and social morning of birdwatching in one of Bendigo’s most accessible and picturesque locations. While the species we encounter are often the more common local birds, this provides a wonderful opportunity to slow down, observe behaviour, refine identification skills, and for photographers, practise technique in a forgiving and enjoyable setting. The mix of mature trees, open lawns and ornamental plantings attracts a steady variety of birdlife, making it ideal for beginners and experienced birders alike.
These walks are designed to be easy-paced and welcoming. We’ll take our time, share knowledge, compare notes, and simply enjoy being outdoors in good company. After our stroll, we’ll pop into the Omari Café for a well-earned coffee and conversation — because at Birds & Beans, the social connection is just as important as the birds.
What to bring/wear: Make sure to bring plenty of water, along with your binoculars and camera gear. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, long trousers, and sturdy closed shoes to keep safe from snakes.
Onsite Facilities: There are toilet facilities available. We will be visiting the Omari Cafe for coffee and sweets at the end of our walk.
