Birds & Beans Social Bird Walk – Strathfieldsaye Reserves Sunday 3 Mar. 2026 8:00am
Join us for a relaxed Birds & Beans walk through the Strathfieldsaye Reserves, where we’ll enjoy an easy stroll through bushland and creekside habitat while looking and listening for local birdlife. These walks are designed to be social and welcoming, whether you’re new to birdwatching or have years of experience. We’ll take our time, stop often, and share tips on identifying birds by sight and sound. Binoculars are helpful but not essential, and the walk is suitable for all fitness levels. After the walk, we’ll head to a nearby café to continue the conversation over a coffee—because the “beans” are just as important as the birds.
A great way to connect with nature, meet like-minded people, and enjoy some gentle birding close to town.
What to bring/wear: Make sure to bring plenty of water, along with your binoculars and camera gear. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, long trousers, and sturdy closed shoes to keep safe from snakes.
Onsite Facilities: There are toilet facilities available. We will be visiting the Dough se Dough Bakery for coffee and sweets at the end of our walk.
Cancellation Information for Outings
Activities will be cancelled if, during the activity period; severe weather warnings are in place, temperatures over 35C or persistent rain is forecast, a Total Fire Ban has been declared or other safety issue is identified. Please check BirdLife Bendigo/Echuca District Facebook page on the evening before a walk, in case the event has been cancelled.
