Birdlife Bendigo-Echuca Monthly Outing – Diamond Dove Dam, Kamarooka Sunday 15 Mar. 2026 8:00am
Due to the on-going hot Summer weather, we will ensure there is water in the dam prior to the event date.
Diamond Dove Dam at Kamarooka is a popular local hotspot for birding, attracting a wide range of species. We often encounter, Diamond Firetails, Crested Bellbirds, Mistletoebirds, Robins, including Red-capped and Flame, a variety of Cuckoos and Honeyeaters and many other birds drawn to the dam and nearby shrubs. We’ll take a relaxed pace, enjoying the chance to watch and listen carefully, share sightings, and appreciate the variety of birds that make this charming spot so rewarding for both beginners and experienced birders.
What to bring/wear: Make sure to bring plenty of water and some snacks, along with your binoculars and camera gear. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, long trousers, and sturdy closed shoes to keep safe from snakes.
Onsite Facilities: There are no bathroom or food facilities on site.
