SAFETY NOTES
Booyong Scrub has in the past been a source of scrub itch (a condition of annoying itchiness lasting two weeks caused by numbers of small tick-like mites dwelling in surrounding vegetation), though very inconsistently. One of our birding friends has been afflicted here, though others visiting the area frequently have never been affected. To avoid this make sure you wear long pants and sleeves and preferably gaiters or long socks to tuck in your trousers. Apply tropical level insect repellent to ankle areas, wrists and neck.
