BirdLife WA - Walk - Lake Goollelal

  • Date Saturday, 24 May 2025
  • Time 8:00 am
  • Locations Lake Goollelal

Overview

Lake Goollelal is a 6km walk and will take about 3 hours. Most of the walk is on good flat path, with only a small section on soft sandy soil.

This lake offers a good selection of bushbirds and waterbirds. It is part of the Northern Swan Coastal Plain Key Biodiversity Area (KBA) for Carnaby’s Black-Cockatoo. It is a key site within a chain of wetland and freshwater habitats that forms Yellagonga Regional Park.

Bring your scope if you have one. Bring a chair and morning tea to have while we do a combined bird list.

For BLWA members and their guests. Members of the public are welcome to join the walk. (Bring binoculars).

Leaders: Lesley Macauley and Lou Scampoli
