Nature plays a crucial role in supporting our well-being, with research now recognising it as a fundamental psychological need. These benefits are now confirmed to be even better with birds!
Birds are engaging, entertaining and highly visible across our towns and cities. From the large, gregarious, and social parrots through to soaring birds of prey or delicate and busy fairy-wrens, pardalotes and finches, there is always an opportunity to see, or hear, a bird.
We all access the health-giving attributes that birds provide. They, in return, can benefit from the actions we take.
BirdLife Australia stops extinctions. We work locally, nationally and globally to drive the recovery of threatened birds, restore nature and stop extinctions. Science and our supporters are vital ingredients in achieving our goals.
We collaborate with leading experts, partner with landholders, lobby governments and meet with schools and communities — and more — to protect Australia’s birds and their habitats and stop bird extinctions.
