Our group started out as the Ballarat branch of the Bird Observers Club in 1983 and became BirdLife Ballarat in 2012.
BirdLife Ballarat is a busy and growing group, operating in Ballarat, Clunes, Linton, Maryborough and Newstead. We offer a range of activities, outings and innovative outreach programs.
The group holds regular monthly outings and meetings that are open to everyone. We often take part in working bees at the Clarkesdale Bird Sanctuary at Linton.
Our outings are on the fourth Sunday of the month (except January and December), and everyone is welcome.
Everyone is welcome to come along to our working bees at Clarkesdale Bird Sanctuary at Linton. They’re held on the first Saturday in April, June, August, October and December.
Our group also participates in the BirdLife Australia Swift Parrot Search, conducted in May and August each year.
Our meetings are held at 7.30 pm every second Tuesday of the month (except January) at the Federation University Rural Studies Centre, on the corner of Gillies and Gregory Streets, Ballarat.
To join our committee you must be a member of BirdLife Australia.
Our newsletter, The Musk Duck, is published quarterly in March, June, September and December.
