Birdlife Bendigo-Echuca Monthly Outing- Huntly Streamside Reserve – Huntly Vic Sunday 19 April. 2026, 8:00am
Our visit to Huntly Streamside Reserve offers a wonderful opportunity to explore this regenerating Box–Ironbark landscape and its rich birdlife. Following the gentle tracks along the creekline, we will search for woodland species such as honeyeaters, thornbills, robins and pardalotes, while keeping an ear out for raptors overhead and parrots moving through the canopy. The mix of mature eucalypts, understorey growth and open clearings makes this reserve particularly rewarding for observing bird behaviour and seasonal changes. This guided field day will allow time for careful observation, shared identification tips, and recording our sightings, all while enjoying the relaxed camaraderie that is a hallmark of BirdLife Bendigo-Echuca activities.
What to bring/wear: Make sure to bring plenty of water and some snacks, along with your binoculars and camera gear. Don’t forget sunscreen, a hat, long trousers, and sturdy closed shoes to keep safe from snakes.
Onsite Facilities: There are no bathroom or food facilities on site.
