BirdLife WA - Walk - Lightning Swamp

  • Date Saturday, 10 August 2024
  • Time 8:00 am
  • Locations Lightning Swamp

Overview

Half-day excursion

Lightning Swamp, part of Noranda Open Space, is an area of seasonal wetlands and Banksia woodland. The area supports some waterbirds, and cormorants have bred here. The bushland supports a range of species, including some that are uncommon in smaller reserves, such as the Western thornbill, Tawny-crowned honeyeater and Red-capped robin. Some areas will be restricted due to the presence of dieback.

Bring a chair and morning tea to have while the bird list is compiled.
For BLWA members and their guests.
Members of the public are welcome to join the walk and are advised to bring a pair of binoculars.

Leader: Adam Graham
