All levels of experience welcome – walks are a great chance to learn from and have fun with fellow birdwatchers. Full details about each walk will be posted on the BirdLife Castlemaine District Facebook page and included in our eNews prior to each walk.
Walks will be cancelled if, during the walk period, severe weather warnings are in place; temperatures over 35oC or persistent rain is forecast; a Total Fire Ban has been declared for the day. Please check your email and/or Facebook on the evening before a walk, in case the event has been cancelled.
For more information, please email castlemaine@birdlife.org.au or call/text
Jane Rusden (0448 900 896), Judy Hopley (0425 768 559) or Bob Dawson (0417 621 691).
Please also note that walks or other activities will need to follow all Victorian Government Covid-19 restrictions and recommendations and will only go ahead if the restrictions permit.

*We originally suggested that we would have the camp early in July, but have had a rethink and decided to move it to September 10 – 12. Firstly, so we can still hold our normal first Saturday of the month walk, as many would not be able to do the camp, and secondly because the July weekend is in the school holidays.
We have also decided to have it later in the year when there is a better possibility of having good weather and we may see a wider range of species as some of the spring returnees should have started to come back.
If anyone else is interested can they please advise Bob Dawson by email bobadawson@hotmail.com or text 0417 621 691.
