  • Governance, Boards and Committees

Come and join the management committee of BirdLife Southern NSW

  • Do you love birds and want to help save habitat and educate the public about what can be done?
  • Do you like to give talks to groups about birds and protecting the natural environment?
  • Are you a good writer and a conservationist who would like to contribute by writing submissions on environmental issues?
  • Do you have technology skills or experience with software or social media?
  • Are you good with numbers and spreadsheets?
  • Are you an organiser and leader?

BirdLife Southern NSW is the largest branch of BirdLife Australia in terms of numbers of members. Our management committee, which has up to twelve members, works to help achieve the goals of BirdLife Australia on a local level, works with other birding groups, makes decisions and assists in the running the branch. There are important conservation issues to pursue, fun and educational events to host and hands-on environmental projects to support.

Committee members, as well as participating in committee meetings, can also join branch subcommittees. We currently have three, dealing respectively with conservation, activities, and social media and communications. And living in a regional area would be no barrier to your participation in our committee or any subcommittee as meetings are held online.

Members of our management committee are required to be financial members of BirdLife Australia – you can join at this link.

So, if you are passionate about Australian birds and the urgent need to protect them, fill in the application form below.
