Eungella Bird Week – Saturday 5th, Sunday 6th and Monday 7th September 2026.
Three days of birdwatching in the Eungella National Park and Clarke Ranges collecting vital data.
From the rainforest to open woodlands, this is an opportunity to observe many bird species of the area. The 8 data points (Key Birding Areas) will be visited in various locations with all being accessed by 2wd on the majority of unsealed roads. However data points both 7 & 8 may be a bit rough & difficult in the wet. A trip to Eungella Dam (33 kms) will also be included.
At this time of the year, Eungella can experience cold weather & misty conditions so don’t forget appropriate clothing, footwear and/or rain jacket.

Meet at the Eungella Oval each morning at 7:30 am.
This a self- catered event • Camping (non powered) is available at Eungella Recreation Oval (ERO) North Street aka The Oval (don’t forget your head torches) • Showers are available at The Hub ($2) in Eungella (across the street from ERR). • Other accommodation is available at a number of sites which include The Chalet & Eungella Cabins, Eungella Mountain Edge Escape Cabins & Broken River Mountain Resort. • There are also a number of AirBnBs & Stayz in the Eungella area. • The closest fuel is at Finch Hatton, Valley Fuel Services (20kms from Eungella). • Food Is available at The Chalet (open 7 days), Platypus Cafe, Broken River (open Friday-Sunday) & Breakaway Cafe, Eungella (open Wednesday-Sunday).
