We wish to remind you that you are responsible for your own safety while taking part in the Spring Count.
- Always let someone know when and where you are going and when you expect to return.
- We recommend wearing enclosed shoes or walking boots, protective clothing (from biting insects, weather etc.) and be prepared for adverse conditions.
- Carry sufficient water.
- Participants should only perform activities that are within their experience and ability, and disclose any medical conditions that may be adversely affected while undertaking the activity. To access some sites you may have to walk on uneven ground or across soft sand. If this level of physical mobility worries you, please let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the form. This way a more accessible roost site can be allocated where necessary.
- Beware of traffic and avoid working under tree canopies where you are at risk of falling branches or pine cones.
- Beware of trip hazards, especially as you will be walking back to your vehicle in low light.
- We recommend surveying in groups of at least two people to maximise safety and improve the reliability of the survey results.
- Registered participants must be 18 or older.
I agree to the the Health and Safety statement.

Do you know of a Forest Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo night roost near you that is not currently included, or you are unsure whether it is currently included, in the Spring Count
(Required)
Yes
No
Please provide a GPS point in decimal degrees if possible or a Google Maps link
If you know about a Forest Red-tailed Black-Cockatoo night-time roost site, or think you have them roosting near you, please tell us about it. Note that daytime sightings are usually feeding sites, not night roosts. To identify a night roost you will need to see them at dusk. Important information on the location of critical roosting habitat is collected through the Spring Count, and up-to-date knowledge of black cockatoo habitat is critical to the ongoing success of the count. Please give us a GPS point in decimal degrees if possible or a Google Maps link.
If you are reporting a new roost to us, please indicate the following
The roost is on my property
The roost is on private property but I am not the land owner
The roost is on public land
If the proposed roost is on private property and you are not the land owner, please tell us the land owner's name and contact details if you know them and they are happy for you to do this.
Do you know someone you would like to count with? Please indicate who below. (Optional)
If you want to survey with another registered Spring Cocky Count participant, provide their name or say "assign me a partner." Some sites need two or more people; others can be solo. If enough people register, we'll pair two to as many sites as possible to ensure coverage. *PLEASE NOTE - IF PARTNERED, WE'LL CC ALL ASSIGNED COUNTERS FOR PRE-EVENT COORDINATION.
Please tell us if you are bringing a friend or family member to assist you who is not registering for the Spring Count. (Optional)
Please note we are not liable for any unregistered participants.
