Birdwatching Weekend at Phillip Island

Join BirdLife Mornington Peninsula and outing leader Malcolm Shapcott (0421-651-844 or mals24@zoho.com) for a Birdwatching Weekend at Phillip Island.

Expressions of Interest are sought for those interested in attending a bird watching weekend based at Cowes on Phillip Island.  I have received fourteen registrations so far for the weekend and there are only two family rooms available for one to four people.

The plan is to check into our accommodation after 2:00pm on Friday 13th November:

• Friday – own arrangements for evening meal.
• Saturday – bird watching morning & afternoon, evening meal at the Phillip Island RSL Club in Cowes.
• Sunday – bird watching morning & early afternoon

Accommodation

I have booked the Glen Isla Apartments in Church St, Cowes for two nights.  The room rate below is for a group booking and we need to book early to ensure the availability.

The following are comfortable budget style rooms with a kitchenette:

• Family Room (2 available) – Queen Bed & 2 Single Beds, Max. Occupancy 4 – $400 for 2 nights

No payment required at this stage – payment by cash will reduce each night by $15.

Parking available for 1 vehicle per room, street parking for additional vehicles.  Facilities include a small swimming pool, spa and BBQ area.  On-site outdoor Café serving Hot & Cold drinks, breakfast food, cakes & slices & ~150m walk to beach.

The accommodation offer is for a limited time only, after this room availability is uncertain, accommodation may need to be booked elsewhere.

There is a limit of 18 people for this weekend and there will be a standby list.
