Located on Victoria’s spectacular Mornington Peninsula, BirdLife Mornington Peninsula conducts regular birdwatching outings to appreciate the birds that inhabit the many different habitats the Peninsula has to offer, as well as monitoring bird nesting boxes we’ve erected in local bushland.
We have rolled out our Nest Box project into two reserves on the Mornington Peninsula, at Olivers Creek in Tyabb and the Dromana Bushland Reserve. Ongoing monitoring of the boxes is conducted by our members, while a maintenance program is facilitated by the Mornington Peninsula Shire.
We conduct regular outings, which are are held on the second Wednesday and third Sunday of each month (excluding January). Newcomers, beginners and visitors are all welcome, and members will help you with spotting and identifying the birds. Binoculars for casual use are available on every outing.
