The White-bellied Sea-Eagle nest census is a national survey, with the primary aim of identifying active nesting sites.
These nest surveys play an integral role in helping us conserve significant White-bellied Sea-Eagle sites while raising public awareness of this vulnerable species. This provides the best possible estimate of where and when White-bellied Sea-Eagles are reproducing.
There may also be an opportunity to volunteer as a monitor of these nests on an ongoing basis. If this is of interest to you, please indicate in the form below. Please do not undertake any monitoring without discussing with us first.
Please note that your presence could disturb nesting birds. If you cannot determine the activity of a nest from 500 metres away, do not approach any further.
Anyone can be a participate – whether you’re retired, are a school leaver or just have a little spare time on your hands.
Our only requirement is that you have experience identifying and observing birds and that you have a valid form of transport.
To take part in the nest census, enter the nest location details in the form below.
