Our monthly BirdLife Bendigo- Echuca outings offer members and visitors the opportunity to explore a diverse range of habitats across our region, from Box–Ironbark forests and wetlands to river corridors and open woodlands. These guided field trips are designed to deepen our understanding of local birdlife, improve identification skills, and share knowledge in a supportive and welcoming environment. Whether you are an experienced birder or just beginning, our outings provide a rewarding chance to connect with nature, contribute to citizen science through recorded sightings, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow bird enthusiasts.
Our Birds and Beans walks offer a relaxed and social way to enjoy birdwatching in accessible parks, gardens, and reserves close to town. These gentle outings focus on connection — with birds, nature, and each other — making them ideal for beginners, families, or anyone who prefers an easy-paced walk with nearby सुविधities. After the walk, we gather at a local café to share sightings, stories, and good conversation over coffee. It’s birding with a social twist, where the birds are important, but so too is the sense of community.
Activities will be cancelled if, during the activity period; severe weather warnings are in place, temperatures over 35C or persistent rain is forecast, a Total Fire Ban has been declared or other safety issue is identified. Please check BirdLife Bendigo/Echuca District Facebook page on the evening before a walk, in case the event has been cancelled.
